the disco ball was the 1st thing i noticed! and then i read u wrote "i nver want to draw one again" xD im sure tht was a hard one, but u did an amazing job on it. her skin is excellent and i love the subtle detail in her clothes tht doesnt show much - but i noticed! lol great job on this
Thank you very much ... and thanks for visiting my gallery However, I'm not entirely sure I know what you mean ... LOL I personally think it's the attention to detail that helps make a drawing realistic ... but, as you say, it's a personal thing. Thanks again
Well, I meant that when you are drawing a photo, you tend to notice all the tiniest details and you want to catch every shade on the picture. And sometimes it makes the drawing look a bit "synthetic" which wouldnīt happen when drawing real life person (however I know you probably donīt have Beyonce in your neighbourhood so she could pose you in her free time ). But thatīs what I meant.
(And Iīm not native English speaker, so my choice of words might be incorret, sorry about that.)
If I may add...Comparing to the photo I notice her mouth isn't quite wide enough. When you draw a strait line from the edge of her mouth up to her eye, it would touch the outer corner of her eye and the other corner wouldn't be close to her other eye. That's how I can tell what the problem is in my own drawings. I also think it's the values of her face. The highlights don't blend into the darker values, but if you made the highlights any darker they'd be too dark. The slightest change in the shape of her eyebrow would also help to fix and it isn't quite as solid as you drew it. So I think in the future, keep paying attention to detail, but don't stick to it too much, as Ooni said. Thanks for listening to my two cents two years later.
